Psychometric Properties of the Persian Version of the Coping with Children’s Negative Emotions Scale

Background: Despite the importance of parents’ role in socializing children, there is no specific tool this field Iran. The Coping with Children’s Negative Emotions Scale (CCNES) a to assess responses children’s emotions. Objectives: This study evaluated reliability and factor structure Persian version CCNES. Methods: assessed psychometrics CCNES 400 mothers after translation/back-translation adaptation into Persian. Mothers were recruited if they had child aged 3 - 6 years old, lived municipal district Tehran scored less than 25 General Health Questionnaire. Results: results revealed internal consistency confirmed test-retest exploratory analysis yielded model six-subscales. Cronbach's alpha coefficients obtained factors ranged from moderate good/very good: Distress reactions (DR, 0.65), punitive (PR, 0.80), minimizing (MR, ignoring (IR, 0.8), expressive encouragement (EE, 0.84), emotion-problem focused (EPFR, 0.88). Conclusions: According results, reliable valid instrument for their Similar research recommended fathers.
